Each of these three elections represent very important opportunities to STOP WOKE!

As Canadian scholar and expert on woke Prof. Erik Kaufmann says in his new book The Third Awokening: A 12-Point Plan for Rolling Back Progressive Extremism:

Today's woke extremism is not a repudiation of liberalism, but a perverse extension of it. Our only way out is to use elected, constitutional government power to break the grip of wokeness in our institutions and schools, steering them toward neutrality and classical liberalism. To do so, the conservative and moderate majority must place culture front and centre and spare no effort to win the battle of ideas: Nothing less than the future of our civilization depends on it.

Stop Woke agrees with Kaufmann that we need "to use constitutional government to break the grip of wokeness." Stop Woke supports the democratic process, and to that end, places great importance on civic engagement.

What is Woke?

"Woke" is a shorthand term for Critical Social Justice, an ideology rooted in Critical Theory, Social Justice, Postmodernism, and Critical Race Theory, challenging Enlightenment values such as reason, open inquiry, free speech, and individual autonomy. It promotes identity politics, elitism, and centralized control under the guise of equality and social justice. Specifically, it advocates for "equity," which involves redistributing resources and opportunities based on group identity rather than individual merit, leading to unequal treatment and undermining principles of fairness and individual rights. Furthermore, its emphasis on group identity enforces ideological conformity by suppressing individual dissent. Critical Social Justice encompasses theories foundational to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Postcolonial Theory, Feminism and Gender Studies, Queer Theory, and Disability and Fat Studies. These theories divide society into oppressors and oppressed groups based on characteristics like race and gender, advocating radical changes to societal structures to address perceived systemic inequalities.

This movement is seen as an attack on Western civilization, aiming to dismantle fundamental principles that have fostered progress, including the rule of law, private property, and capitalism. By leveraging identity politics and notions of victimhood, "woke" culture seeks to undermine the liberal values that underpin modern Western societies, promoting a narrative that any disagreement with its tenets is evidence of ignorance or complicity in oppression. This approach is criticized for fostering social division and authoritarianism under the guise of social justice.

Why Stop Woke?

Woke ideology is fundamentally authoritarian and anti-liberal, challenging foundational principles such as free speech, open inquiry, and individual autonomy. It promotes a rigid, dogmatic approach to social issues where its tenets are seen as absolute truths that cannot be questioned. This creates an environment where dissenting opinions are actively suppressed, leading to enforced conformity and a stifling of intellectual diversity.

In addition to its authoritarian nature, woke policies often prioritize identity over merit, which can undermine the effectiveness and efficiency of institutions. Decisions based on identity rather than competence can erode trust in these institutions and demoralize individuals who feel judged by their identity rather than their skills or contributions. Furthermore, the widespread adoption of woke ideology in institutions and regulatory bodies fosters social division and double standards, often resulting in new forms of inequality. Stopping woke authoritarianism is essential to preserving a merit-based, fair, and open society that values individual rights and freedoms.
